Flowering into beautiful blooms of red and purple, this Lasagne Planting Bulb Mix is the perfect solution for a curated, stunning container display. Ideally used with lasagne planting in a pot, this collection pack includes 20 Crocus vernus ‘Flower Record’ bulbs, 5 Hyacinthus Orientalis ‘Woodstock’ bulbs and 15 Tulipa triumph ‘Seadov’ bulbs.
When planting in layers take care not to plant the bulbs directly over each other. Ideally, plant the bulbs at staggered depths of 20cm/8″ for the Hyacinths, 10cm/4″ for the Tulips and 5cm/2″ for the Crocuses.
Try to plant with around 15cm/6″ between each Hyacinth bulb, 10cm/4″ between each Tulip bulb and 5cm/2″ between each Crocus bulb.
Cover the nose of the bulbs with 3cm/1″ of soil and place the pot in a cool 5-10 degree Celsius dark spot. Water after planting and check once a week, watering slightly if necessary. When the bulbs are rooted and the buds are 3cm/1″ high (10-12 weeks), you can bring the pot outside.
When planted this way, you should expect a sustained beautiful display of red and purple flowers than will evolve throughout spring with complementary tones, lasting up to 100 days.
