Description

Camassia cusickii (Cusick’s Camass) produces firework-like flowers in an azure-blue shade growing from sturdy stems that bloom in late spring and early summer.

Weave this striking plant through other herbaceous plants in a cultivated border, or include in grasses and wildflower meadows to grow above any mid-size flowering plants. When left undisturbed in the ground, these bulbs will gradually naturalise over the years. Alternatively, these stunning flowers can be planted into pots or containers on patios, or can be used as cut flowers in an arrangement in the home.

Plant these bulbs 8cm deep and around 15cm apart to allow space for the flowers to spread when growing. Camassia will grow in a wide range of soils provided there is good drainage. They like sunshine or partial shade and a good supply of humus such as leaf mould or compost.
